Spiral Skills C.I.C is a Lambeth based social enterprise delivering careers services to young people at risk of becoming NEET (not in education, employment or training). We deliver our services in Pupil Referral Units, youth centres, schools and colleges. Our programmes develop young people's  transferable skills, attitudes and aspirations and feature; work based learning, professional interactions, transferable skills development, and personal development.  On completion of a programme, we provide CV and personal statement support, and provide young people with access too further training, work experience and employment opportunities. 

Spiral Skills C.I.C (“Spiral Skills”) will be what’s known as the ‘controller’ of the personal data you provide to us. Spiral Skills is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (“ICO”) as a data controller under the Data Protection Act 1998 and EU General Data Protection Regulation.

Your basic information is collected when you sign up through our website and is securely stored on our Mailchimp mailing lists. It is also collected when you support our crowd funding campaigns, or when you attend an event we have run.

Professional volunteers

Your contact details are collected when you join us as a volunteer for a workshop. We then add your details to our professional volunteer network on our Salesforce system. This enables us to contact you again if we are running a programme relevant to your job sector and need to recruit volunteers, or invite you to events we're running. 

Young People 

We collect your data when you attend our programmes, events, or are referred to us from a delivery partner. These are collected with our personal data forms, and added to our Salesforce system. We require more in-depth information about our beneficiaries, as it enables us to provide more targeted support to your needs, and also to support you into opportunities that match your interests and current education level.

Delivery Partners  

We collect your data when we partner together on a programme or event for young people. Your data is kept securely on our Salesforce system so we are able to contact you with opportunities to distribute to your young people, for monitoring and evaluation purposes, or for new partnership opportunities with Spiral Skills.

It is completely up to you

You can opt out of communications from us either by selecting the unsubscribe link in an email we’ve sent you, or by sending your request to emma@myspiral.co.uk with subject line ‘opt out’.

You can find out exactly what personal information of yours we hold by making a ‘subject access request’ to us under the Data Protection Act 1998 and EU General Data Protection. If you make such a request and we do hold information about you, we will:

  • give you a description of it;
  • tell you why we are holding it;
  • tell you who it could be disclosed to; and
  • let you have a copy of the information in an intelligible form.

To make a request for any personal information we may hold, you need to contact us using the details provided at the end of this policy. Your request will be responded to within 30 days.

If at any point you believe the information we process on you is incorrect you can write to us to have it corrected or deleted. If you wish to raise a complaint on how we have handled your personal data, you can contact us to have the matter investigated.
