To build life skills to equip young people for their future
Many employers are concerned about a skills mismatch and are struggling to find appropriate candidates. This is due to young people not being taught the work-relevant, transferable skills they need to achieve employment.
To raise self esteem & confidence
There are currently 754,000 young people unemployed in the UK. Unemployment leads to a loss of self-esteem, depression and poverty.
To open communication between employers and schools
Under a third of employers communicate with schools. This leaves a gaping hole of knowledge for our young people in terms of career options and pathways. How can they make decisions without knowing what's available to them?
To build community links
Local role models are so important for our young people, yet there's often no platform for them to cross paths. This leaves a lot of young people without role models to inspire their development.
To energise careers advice
Many young people we've worked with said their previous career advice was boring. Often deliverers aren't trained in engaging young people, so stand and talk at them for a long time causing interest and attention to wane. Young people need to be invigorated and inspired with lively workshops delivered by experts in engagement.
